Costa Rica  

If you mention Costa Rica people immediately think paradise…it's a laid back country, with friendly citizens, and plenty of attractions to see & activities to do. You must visit CR to experience its true beauty.

This is a tropical country which contains several distinct climatic zones. There is no winter or summer as such, and most regions have a rainy season from May to November and a dry season from December to April.

Costa Rica is a democratic republic. Citizens of the U.S., Canada and Panama may enter Costa Rica with a tourist card and one other piece of identification e.g. passport, driver's license or birth certificate. You are unlikely to encounter any serious diseases in Costa Rica. Sanitary standards are high and the health system is excellent.

The Lake Arenal Area

The Lake Arenal has an area of 85.5 km (33 sq. miles) and it has been considered as one of the most beautiful places in the world for its scenery and richness in natural resources. The Lake is surrounded by evergreen vegetation and mountains that make visitors fall in love with the area at first sight.

The average weather temperature is 76°F or 24 °C, these conditions make the use of air conditioner almost unnecessary all year round.

There are small villages and large towns that are all around the Buena Vista Projects and ready for you to explore. In the small villages of Tronadora and Sabalito you can find most everyday items, yet for more options in shopping and eating you can visit Tilarán.

Lake Arenal has been rated as one of the five best places in the world for windsurfing. The amenities of the area give even non-windsurfers diversions that range from shopping and sunbathing to eco tours through the surrounding rain forest and visits to nearby Volcano's. Tilarán has banks, medical facilities, shopping, a post office and restaurants with a variety of food choices. Cañas is the nearby city which has a hospital for medical emergencies.

From this area it is about a 3 ½ hour drive to San Jose and 1 ½ hour drive to Liberia – Both cities contain International Airports.
